UK on-street EV charging operator char.gy has partnered with fleet payment provider Allstar to serve UK business drivers
UK on-street EV charging network char.gy has partnered with fleet payment provider Allstar to give business drivers access to its residential charge points using the Allstar fuel card. Fleet drivers can now find char.gy charge points through the company’s app and pay with their existing Allstar card without setting up a separate account or billing arrangement.
Allstar handles fuel payments across more than 90 percent of UK fuel sites, and the integration extends that consolidated payment infrastructure to EV charging on char.gy’s network. The two companies say the deal targets fleet drivers without home charging, particularly self-employed drivers who would otherwise rely on more expensive rapid DC charging.
In a statement, John Lewis, Chief Executive of char.gy, said: “As fleets electrify, one of the biggest challenges is ensuring drivers can access reliable, convenient charging where they live.” char.gy’s network focuses on residential on-street AC charging, designed for overnight use by drivers without dedicated home parking.
Allstar is part of US fleet payments group Corpay, with Tom Rowlands serving as Managing Director of Global EV Solutions. char.gy says the integration consolidates fuel and EV charging into a single billing workflow for fleet operators using the Allstar card.
