Rivian and EnergyHub have partnered to give Rivian drivers access to utility managed charging programmes across North America.
EnergyHub and Rivian have announced a partnership to expand access to utility managed charging programmes for Rivian drivers across North America. Rivian vehicles will be eligible for both passive and active managed charging programmes under the arrangement.
EnergyHub’s managed charging technology uses dynamic load shaping to coordinate EV charging within distribution network capacity constraints. The capability sits within EnergyHub’s broader virtual power plant platform, alongside connected thermostats, batteries, and other flexible devices. EnergyHub currently manages more than 2.5 million distributed energy resources and over 3.5 GW of flexible capacity across 170-plus utilities.
The partnership combines EnergyHub’s grid-edge software with Rivian’s direct driver engagement, with the aim of making utility programme enrolment more accessible for drivers and easier to scale for utilities.
