MAN to invest €300m in European service network

MAN Truck & Bus is investing €300m in its European service network by 2030, the largest such investment in its history

MAN Truck & Bus is investing around €300m in the expansion and development of its European service network by 2030, the largest investment of its kind in the truckmaker’s history. Around one third of the total will be channelled into electromobility and digitalisation, with two out of three service locations set to be prepared for e-mobility by 2026.

The company said it aims for almost 80% of customers to have a travel time of less than 30 minutes to the nearest MAN service location. Priority markets include Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, Poland, and Turkey, with MAN opening an average of seven new branches per year in these countries.

In a statement, Friedrich Baumann, Executive Board Member for Sales and Customer Solutions at MAN, said: “A strong brand needs a strong service network. We have that—and we are now making it even stronger. The commercial vehicle business is significantly more complex and service-intensive than the passenger car business.”

MAN currently operates around 1,200 company-owned and partner locations across Europe, with more than 2,000 service centres providing support via its Mobile24 breakdown service. Around 8,000 employees are receiving e-mobility training, and battery repair centres are already operational in Germany, Spain, Belgium, Austria, and Italy. Through a partnership with E.ON, up to 400 publicly accessible truck charging points will be installed at up to 170 locations across Europe.
