Ford, GM and Stellantis have all announced major electric vehicle (EV)-related write-downs in recent months: US$20bn, US$8bn and US$26bn, respectively. Then, out of the blue on 12 March, just weeks before the end of fiscal year, Honda announced a similar fundamental shift in corporate strategy.
