GM’s next-gen EV pickup and SUV is the logical conclusion of a retreat that began the moment the tax credit was eliminated. By Stewart Burnett
General Motors has indefinitely suspended the development of next-generation versions of its full-size pick-up and SUV electric vehicles (EVs), according to a report by Crain’s Detroit Business. Planned successors to the Chevrolet Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV, Hummer EV, and Cadillac Escalade IQ—previously targeted for a 2028 refresh with lower-cost variants—are now unlikely before 2030.
