The Tier 1 supplier said more than 35% of its code is now AI-generated, following the wider deployment of Gemini Code Assist
Tier 1 supplier Valeo is rolling out Google Cloud’s Gemini for Workspace generative AI tools to all 100,000 of its employees globally, expanding a partnership that began in 2008. The move follows Gemini Code Assist’s wider deployment, with Valeo saying more than 35% of its code is now AI-generated.
Valeo is also expanding its use of Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform for agentic AI, building on agent work it began 18 months ago. Early Valeo agents include a Software Testing Assistant that generates test cases from the software design phase, a Software Development Life Cycle Assistant that reviews and proposes fixes in continuous integration, and a System Requirements Assistant.
The supplier said the agentic AI shift aims to automate engineering processes and shorten time to market for autonomous mobility products, with a human kept in the loop on quality and security.
Valeo is rolling out a skills programme alongside the Workspace deployment, and said Gemini for Workspace is configured to protect proprietary data and intellectual property.
In a statement, Christophe Perillat, Chief Executive of Valeo, said: “By putting Gemini for Workspace into the hands of every Valeo employee, we are not just upgrading our tools; we are embedding a culture of innovation. The move toward Agentic AI with Gemini Enterprise represents the next chapter, allowing our engineers to focus on high-value breakthroughs while AI agents handle complex operational cycles.”
