DAF’s XF Electric has been named 2026 Eco-Friendly Truck of the Year by a Spanish jury of transport professionals
The DAF XF Electric has been named 2026 Eco-Friendly Truck of the Year by a Spanish jury comprising executives from more than 100 transport companies and alternative energy specialists. The award, part of the National Transport Awards programme established in 1988 by Spanish publications Transporte 3 and Viajeros, follows the vehicle’s International Truck of the Year 2026 win.
The jury praised the e-truck for its advanced technology, sustainability focus and overall performance, evaluating vehicles on criteria including innovation, efficiency, environmental impact and user-friendliness. It noted that the XF Electric demonstrates environmental responsibility can be combined with operational efficiency and driver comfort.

The vehicle is powered by PACCAR EX-D1 and EX-D2 electric motors delivering outputs from 170 kW to 350 kW, offering a zero-emission range of more than 500 kilometres depending on configuration. It uses lithium-iron-phosphate batteries that are free of cobalt and nickel and can be charged to 100% without affecting durability.
In a statement, Bart Bosmans, Member of the DAF Board of Management, said: “Being awarded Eco-Friendly Truck of the Year is another wonderful recognition of the qualities of our New Generation DAF Electric trucks. In addition to these vehicles, we provide a complete package of services to support operators when investing in electric logistics.”
