Eaton has introduced multiplexed and wireless vehicle control technologies for on- and off-highway applications
Eaton has introduced a new generation of multiplexed and wireless vehicle control technologies for on- and off-highway applications, targeting industries including agriculture, construction, mining and defence. The solutions are designed to offer standardised, reprogrammable architectures that can be deployed across multiple vehicle platforms and operating environments.
The supplier’s multiplexed switch technology replaces traditional electromechanical systems with digital interfaces that enable multiple modules to communicate over a single data bus. This reduces wiring complexity, installation time and weight while improving diagnostics and system performance, Eaton said. The software-driven design allows switches to be reprogrammed through updates, enabling manufacturers and fleet operators to adapt vehicle functions without redesigning wiring harnesses.

“Across the commercial and specialty vehicle industry, OEMs are rethinking how operators interact with machines,” Carlos Ortega, Business Unit Director, Vehicle Controls and Wireless at Eaton’s Mobility Group, said. “Our multiplexed switch modules and wireless control systems simplify vehicle architectures, reduce weight and complexity, and give customers a unified ecosystem for vehicle control.”
The control solutions are sealed against water, dust, mud and extreme temperatures. Eaton said the systems are designed in alignment with global functional safety standards to help manufacturers comply with increasingly stringent requirements.
