Xpeng attended the World Governments Summit in Dubai, engaging with policymakers on autonomous driving and AI integration
Xpeng has made its first appearance at the World Governments Summit, held 3–5 February in Dubai, where executives engaged with policymakers and industry leaders on the future of AI-driven mobility. The event brought together more than 6,000 participants, including 35 heads of state, 150 governments and 500 ministers.
Brian Gu, Vice Chairman and President, participated in a fireside chat as part of the official programme, discussing how AI-powered mobility systems are evolving beyond functional tools into intelligent systems that help users navigate complex environments.
“Electrification changes the energy source, but it is intelligence that will truly change how people move and live,” Gu said. “Over the next decade, autonomous driving and robotaxi services will become part of everyday life, driven by advances in AI technology and supported by evolving regulatory frameworks.”
Gu outlined Xpeng’s approach to integrating hardware, software, data and algorithms across electric vehicles, autonomous driving, flying vehicles and humanoid robots. During the summit, he also met with Pedro Sánchez, Prime Minister of Spain, to discuss the company’s European expansion plans, including potential opportunities in Spain.
Xpeng held additional meetings with policymakers to explore mobility trends and opportunities across the Middle East and North Africa region.
