The Corvette ZR1X accelerated from zero to 60 mph in 1.68 seconds during testing, Chevrolet has confirmed
Chevrolet has confirmed the Corvette ZR1X completed the quarter mile in 8.675 seconds at 159 mph during validation testing in October 2025, with a zero to 60 mph time of 1.68 seconds on the same run. General Motors said the result makes the ZR1X the quickest American production car available and the fastest quarter-mile production vehicle for under US$1m.

Testing took place at US 131 Motorsports Park in Michigan on a prepped surface, using pump fuel, standard Michelin PS4S tyres and production 50-state street-legal engine calibration. The vehicle completed multiple back-to-back quarter-mile runs under 8.8 seconds. On an unprepped surface with the available ZTK Performance Package, the ZR1X recorded a quarter mile of 8.99 seconds and zero to 60 mph in 1.89 seconds.
The 2026 Corvette ZR1X combines a twin-turbocharged LT7 V8 engine with a front-axle electric motor to produce 1,250 horsepower through electrified all-wheel drive. Production began in December 2025 at GM’s Bowling Green Assembly Plant in Kentucky, with prices starting at US$209,700.
In a statement, Mark Reuss, President of General Motors, said: “When we made the revolutionary shift to a mid-engine platform, this is the type of performance we knew was possible.”
