Wilson Lirmann moves from Volvo Trucks Latin America to lead Mack Trucks from 1 August, succeeding the retiring Stephen Roy

Volvo Group has appointed Wilson Lirmann as the next President of Mack Trucks, succeeding Stephen Roy, who is retiring after nearly 25 years with the company. The transition takes effect on 1 August 2026.
Roy has led Mack Trucks and Volvo’s Group Trucks North America business for the past three years. He has held senior roles across the truckmaker’s operations and its construction equipment business during his time with the company, which the Group credits with establishing the foundation for its current North American growth trajectory.
Lirmann joins the role from Volvo Trucks Latin America, where he has led both the brand and the wider Group business in the region for close to a decade. He has previously held multiple leadership positions within Volvo Trucks and brings extensive experience across the truck business to the new role.
Martin Lundstedt, President and Chief Executive at Volvo Group, said: “I am deeply grateful for Stephen’s contributions over the years. In his different roles, Stephen has driven the platform for continued growth in North America, reinforcing our regional strategy and setting us up well for the next phase.”
The appointment was announced alongside broader changes to the Volvo Group Executive Board and Mack Trucks management team.
