VDL Bus Group delivers first Futura 3 coach in Belgium

VDL Bus Group has delivered its first Futura 3 coach in Belgium, handing the vehicle to Flemish operator Reizen De Arend on 10 March 2026 and marking the model’s expansion beyond its initial Netherlands launch in January 2026. The 12.9-metre single-deck coach is the third generation of the Futura range, targeting long-distance operators with improved fuel efficiency, lower maintenance costs and updated safety systems.

The Futura 3 achieves fuel savings of up to 15% through aerodynamic improvements, weight reduction and advanced vehicle technology, reducing operating costs across the vehicle’s lifetime. The model is also prepared for alternative drivetrains, giving operators flexibility as powertrain options develop.

Safety features include the latest generation of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and improved driver sightlines. The cabin has been redesigned with ergonomic seating and intuitive controls, while a new interior, ambient lighting and a revised climate system address passenger comfort.
