Vauxhall adds Kerbo Charge to on-street EV campaign

Vauxhall has added Kerbo Charge to its Electric Streets of Britain campaign, offering £500 off cross-pavement installations

Vauxhall has added cross-pavement charging specialist Kerbo Charge to its Electric Streets of Britain partner network, alongside Freedom of Information (FOI) research showing that 42% of UK councils will offer cross-pavement charging by the end of 2026. The partnership includes a £500 (US$675) installation discount for Vauxhall EV buyers under the automaker’s Electric All In offer.

FOI research conducted between November 2025 and January 2026 found that 56 tier-one councils across England, Scotland and Wales will have cross-pavement charging available by year-end 2026. Of the 134 councils that responded, seven currently operate live schemes, 21 are in trial stages and 28 are planning rollouts during 2026.

Vauxhall flagged inconsistency across local authorities, with installation costs ranging from free to more than £1,000 (US$1,350) depending on the council. The automaker called for standardised application processes, citing an Electric Vehicle Association England report that highlighted resident frustrations over unclear guidance and long approval wait times.

Eurig Druce, Managing Director, Vauxhall and Group Managing Director, Stellantis UK, said: “Cross-pavement charging is a great way to ensure EV charging access is available for the millions of drivers wanting to be able to charge at home, opening the door for many who are thinking about making the switch but still have concerns about practical charging near them.”

Kerbo Charge has installed more than 1,000 cross-pavement gullies since February 2024.
