Valeo’s R:Racing game launches in Renault Filante

Valeo’s extended reality gaming system has entered series production in Renault Korea’s new Filante crossover

Valeo has announced that its extended reality (XR) gaming system has entered series production in Renault Korea’s new Filante crossover, marking what the supplier describes as the first such feature fully integrated into a production vehicle. The system, called R:Racing, was originally unveiled as the Valeo Racer concept at SXSW in 2024.

The gaming experience uses existing vehicle sensors, cameras, compute hardware and software to blend virtual gameplay with the real-world environment. Valeo said the motion-synchronised system reduces motion sickness compared with standard in-car content.

“The transition of the original Valeo Racer concept to series production is a clear illustration of how Valeo turns innovation into concrete customer value within a short period of time,” Marc Vrecko, Chief Executive of Valeo’s Brain division, said. “Together with Renault Korea, we are redefining the in-car experience by combining perception technologies, software and creativity to make mobility more engaging, without compromising safety.”

Nicolas Paris, Chief Executive of Renault Korea, added: “The Renault Filante embodies our ambition to deliver vehicles that combine emotional design, advanced technology and meaningful digital experiences for our customers.”

The Filante, developed and produced in Korea, represents Renault Group’s renewed international strategy in high-value markets.
