The expanded partnership will accelerate deployment of PlusAI’s SuperDrive system on Scania, MAN, and International trucks
Traton Group and PlusAI have announced an expanded partnership to accelerate the development and deployment of autonomous trucking solutions in the US and Europe, with Traton committing up to US$25m in research and development funding to advance factory integration of PlusAI’s SuperDrive virtual driver system. The expanded agreement will also see Traton nominate a representative to PlusAI’s board of directors following the autonomous driving firm’s planned public listing.

The partnership builds on a collaboration first announced in 2024, when SuperDrive was selected as the on-highway autonomous driving platform for Traton’s brands, including Scania, MAN, and International. International has since initiated autonomous fleet trials in Texas with a major North American logistics operator.
In a statement, Niklas Klingenberg, Member of the Executive Board responsible for Research and Development at Traton Group, said: “From day one of our collaboration, PlusAI’s technical capabilities and commercial execution have exceeded our expectations, giving us even greater confidence that we have chosen the right partner.”
David Liu, Chief Executive and Co-Founder of PlusAI, added: “We have a common Level 4 software stack operating in Europe and the U.S., proven integration on truck platforms of Traton’s brands, successful driverless validation, and customer pilots underway. The expanded partnership allows us to build on this momentum and accelerate towards scaled commercial deployment.”
