Toyota has addressed the impact of US tariffs by cutting costs and improving its mix, but one-off factors shape its positive results. By Ian Henry
Announcing its results for the first nine months of 2025/26, Toyota has revised its full-year operating profit forecast to JP¥3.8tr, up from JP¥3.4tr in H1. This reflects amelioration activities that Toyota has taken to counter the impact of US tariffs, which are expected to cost the company JP¥1.45tr this financial year.
