TomTom has appointed Mike Schoofs as Chief Executive, promoting the long-serving Chief Revenue Officer to lead the company

TomTom has appointed Mike Schoofs as Chief Executive and Management Board member, with shareholders approving the change at the location technology firm’s Annual General Meeting. The appointment was confirmed on 16 April 2026 at the company’s Amsterdam headquarters.
Schoofs has been with TomTom since 2005, most recently as Chief Revenue Officer since 2023, a role in which he led the firm’s global commercial strategy across all business segments. He previously held senior commercial leadership positions at TomTom across multiple regions, including responsibility for the Enterprise business. Earlier in his career, he worked at KPN-Orange and Samsung.
The AGM also approved the appointment of TomTom Co-founder and former Chief Executive Harold Goddijn to the Supervisory Board, alongside the appointment of Joep van Beurden and the reappointment of Derk Haank as Supervisory Board members.
Derk Haank, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, TomTom, said: “Mike brings extensive commercial leadership experience and deep knowledge of TomTom’s business, built over more than two decades with the company. We are confident that he is well positioned to lead TomTom in its next phase.”

Schoofs is a Belgian national based in Amsterdam and advises several European start-ups.
