TomTom and Miovision partner on traffic analytics

Miovision will distribute TomTom traffic analytics products and extend probe data to more than 300,000 intersections globally

TomTom and Miovision have announced a partnership to combine traffic analytics with intelligent mobility solutions, aimed at helping traffic agencies improve signal timing and road safety. Under the agreement, Miovision will extend TomTom probe data to all users of its Miovision One platform, expanding coverage to more than 300,000 intersections globally from hundreds of millions of mobile endpoints.

Miovision will also distribute TomTom Traffic Analytics products to public sector clients and traffic agencies, providing access to congestion heat maps, corridor analytics and highway data. The partnership integrates Miovision’s GenAI traffic agent, which enables traffic management teams to access insights from both TomTom data and connected infrastructure through a conversational interface.

In a statement, Thomas Bauer, Vice President for V2X Sales at Miovision, said: “By leveraging their market-leading live and historic traffic data, we can conduct deeper analyses of trends and enhance our traffic light timing predictions. With our combined expertise, we enable traffic agencies to identify underperforming traffic signals and intersections that would benefit from improved signalisation and corridor-level traffic management.”

Ralf-Peter Schäfer, Vice President for Traffic and Travel Information at TomTom, added: “By combining our traffic analytics products with their intelligent mobility solutions, traffic and road authorities will gain a holistic view of road performance and intersection dynamics, facilitating smarter decision-making.”
