Tata Technologies says its WATTSync platform supports India’s Battery Aadhaar requirements and aligns with the EU Battery Regulation
Tata Technologies has announced that its battery intelligence platform WATTSync is equipped to meet India’s upcoming Battery Aadhaar digital identity and traceability requirements for electric vehicle batteries. The platform supports generation and management of the mandated 21-character Battery Pack Aadhaar Number (BPAN) while maintaining alignment with the EU Battery Regulation.
The Battery Aadhaar framework will require QR-code-enabled digital identity for batteries, with traceability across the full lifecycle from manufacturing through to recycling. WATTSync’s static data model supports prescribed fields including manufacturer identifiers, battery descriptors, material composition, chemistry and carbon footprint.
For dynamic data requirements such as state of health, charge-discharge cycles and thermal events, the platform integrates with battery management systems (BMS). Its cloud-based microservices architecture enables real-time analytics and API-based data exchange with government-mandated digital infrastructure.
The platform includes AI-driven analytics for predictive maintenance and safety intelligence, including thermal anomaly detection and remaining useful life estimation. WATTSync also supports circular economy objectives through end-of-life information exchange and carbon footprint tracking across the recycling chain.
