Samsara adds International Motors to PDI programme

Samsara has added International Motors to its pre-delivery installation (PDI) programme, enabling new International trucks and IC Bus school buses to arrive with telematics devices already fitted and activated. The arrangement covers installations at International’s Truck Specialty Centers and Custom Bus Center locations across North America.

Under the programme, vehicles are shipped with Samsara vehicle gateways, dash cams, AI multicam units and external cameras pre-installed, with software licences activated at the point of shipment. International can order Samsara hardware directly on behalf of its customers, removing post-delivery installation downtime that the companies said could otherwise extend to several weeks.

More than 200,000 International trucks and IC buses are already equipped with Samsara products, with customers including logistics firm Estes and school transport operator First Student, which operates a fleet of nearly 49,000 vehicles. New vehicles can be upfitted at International modification centres in Escobedo, San Antonio and Tulsa.

In a statement, Jeff Faulkner, Senior Vice President of Operations at Samsara, said: “Since launching our PDI program less than a year ago, we’ve already seen a significant volume of pre-installed products, proving there is an appetite for ‘out-of-the-box’ connectivity. Partnering with International scales this impact significantly.”
