Rivian’s R2 mid-size SUV will arrive in three trims from US$48,490, with Performance deliveries starting this spring and Standard following in 2027
Rivian has revealed full trim levels and pricing for its R2 mid-size electric SUV, with deliveries of the Performance variant beginning in spring 2026 at a starting price of US$57,990. Two further trims follow: Premium from US$53,990 in late 2026 and Standard from US$48,490 in the first half of 2027, with a fourth variant expected around US$45,000 in late 2027.

The Performance trim produces 656 horsepower and 609 lb-ft of torque via a dual-motor all-wheel drive system, reaching 60 mph in 3.6 seconds with an EPA-estimated range of up to 330 miles. The dual-motor Premium trim offers 450 horsepower and the same 330-mile range estimate, while the rear-wheel drive Standard delivers 350 horsepower and a Rivian-estimated 345 miles. All variants include a native NACS charge port with access to the Supercharger network.
The R2 features an 11-camera, five-radar perception stack and optional Autonomy+ hands-free driving, available at US$49.99 per month or a one-time fee of US$2,500. A haptic steering wheel with context-aware dials and 200 sparse tera operations per second of edge AI compute are built into all trims.
RJ Scaringe, Founder and Chief Executive of Rivian, said: “R2 embodies so many of our learnings that we have accumulated — the passion and attention to detail from our team is visible everywhere.”
