Pony.ai has integrated its robotaxi service into Tencent’s WeChat Mobility Services portal, allowing users in designated areas of Guangzhou to book fully driverless rides through one of China’s most widely used consumer applications. The integration builds on a strategic partnership with Tencent Cloud first announced in April 2025, which spans cloud computing, mapping, smart cabin technology, virtual simulation and AI.

Users can access the service by entering pickup and drop-off locations through WeChat’s Mobility Services portal, with an autonomous ride option available where the route falls within Pony.ai’s coverage area. The company’s service was previously accessible through a dedicated WeChat Mini Program. Integration into Tencent Maps is expected to follow.

Pony.ai was the first operator in China to launch fully driverless ride-hailing across all four tier-one cities — Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Its robotaxi fleet has exceeded 1,159 vehicles and is expected to grow to more than 3,000 units by the end of 2026.

The company has established partnerships with mobility platforms including Alipay, Amap and Jinjiang Taxi in China, and works internationally with Stellantis, Uber, Bolt, ComfortDelGro and others to support testing, pilot programmes and fleet deployments.
