Pioneer has developed a custom sound system for Toyota’s e-Palette electric vehicle as part of the Communication Palette project
Pioneer has announced its participation in Toyota’s Communication Palette mobility service project, developing a custom sound system for the automaker’s e-Palette battery-electric vehicle. The system features an optimised speaker layout and sound tuning designed to enhance passenger experiences, with selectable modes tailored for specific use scenarios.
The sound system includes an Interview Mode that enhances dialogue during online communication, and an Immersive Mode that provides enhanced bass and three-dimensional sound reproduction for video content. Pioneer said its expertise in automotive cabin acoustics has been used to ensure passengers in every seating position can benefit from the selected sound mode.

The inaugural e-Palette developed under the Communication Palette initiative will transport spectators from stadiums to public transport hubs, with passengers able to view video highlights of sporting events accompanied by immersive sound effects.
The Communication Palette project is intended to enhance the value of time spent on mobility platforms, with Toyota aiming to provide a diverse range of applications for the e-Palette.
