OpenSynergy Blue SDK now in 400 million cars

OpenSynergy has announced that its Blue SDK Bluetooth stack is now deployed in more than 400 million cars worldwide

OpenSynergy has announced that its Blue SDK Bluetooth stack is now deployed in more than 400 million cars worldwide. The software is integrated by virtually all major OEMs across a wide range of vehicles, segments and markets, offering interoperability between generations of smartphones and cars.

In a statement, Kathleen Ende, Chief Executive of OpenSynergy, said: “This is an incredible milestone for OpenSynergy, but it is also a testament to the ubiquity of the Bluetooth standard in our everyday lives and the success of the entire Bluetooth ecosystem under the leadership of the Bluetooth SIG. Blue SDK is now an essential part of the daily automotive cockpit plug and play experience, helping millions of drivers have safer and more enjoyable journeys thanks to hands-free calling and streaming of their favourite media from their phones.”

OpenSynergy said the automotive industry has chosen Blue SDK for its flexibility and maturity, helping tier one suppliers and OEMs simplify Bluetooth development for complex interoperability requirements. Beyond automotive, Blue SDK has been integrated into more than one billion devices across industrial, IoT, medical and consumer segments.

The firm said it will continue to support new use cases within the automotive industry, including multiple phone connections, Auracast broadcast audio and Bluetooth Channel Sounding for enhanced security.
