Nissan has unveiled the Aura Nismo RS Concept at Tokyo Auto Salon 2026 as a potential future production model
Nissan has unveiled the Aura Nismo RS Concept at Tokyo Auto Salon 2026, a high-performance hot hatch combining the Aura Nismo platform with the X-Trail Nismo’s e-Power series hybrid powertrain and e-4orce all-wheel control technology. The automaker said it is exploring the potential of bringing the concept to market as a production vehicle, with possible racing applications also under consideration.

The concept features widened bodywork expanded by 145 mm, a 20 mm reduction in ride height and aerodynamic enhancements including a front spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser and dedicated rear spoiler. The powertrain comprises a 150 kW front motor and 100 kW rear motor paired with a 1.5-litre power generation engine, delivering increased output compared to the standard Aura Nismo despite a 100 kg weight increase.
Braking uses four-pot front and two-pot rear opposed-piston calipers, while the concept rides on 18-inch Nismo LM GT4 wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres.
In a statement, Yutaka Sanada, President and Chief Executive of Nissan Motorsports and Customizing, said: “Under our Re:Nissan strategy, we are committed to introducing heartbeat models at speed that resonate with customers. We are extremely pleased to unveil the Aura Nismo RS Concept as our first offering born from our collective NMC expertise.”
