Mercedes-Benz has revealed the updated S-Class, with more than 50% of the vehicle newly developed or re-engineered
Mercedes-Benz has revealed the updated S-Class, which the automaker describes as the most comprehensive update within a single S-Class generation, with more than 50% of the vehicle—around 2,700 components—newly developed or re-engineered. Orders open from 30 January 2026, with the S 350 d 4Matic Saloon starting at €121,356 in Germany. Production takes place at the Sindelfingen plant in Factory 56.

The updated model is powered by the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), a new electrical and electronic architecture that connects all vehicle systems and enables over-the-air updates. The MB.Drive assistance suite includes MB.Drive Assist Pro, which supports point-to-point driving in dense urban traffic—available in China at launch, with the US to follow and other markets once regulations permit.
Powertrain options include an updated V8 producing 395kW and 750Nm, revised six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines with a 17kW integrated starter-generator, and a plug-in hybrid offering approximately 100km of electric range and up to 430kW of system output.

New Digital Light headlamps use micro-LED technology to deliver approximately 40% more illumination, while an optional illuminated Mercedes star on the bonnet appears on the S-Class for the first time. The standard MBUX Superscreen merges the central and passenger displays beneath a single glass surface, with fourth-generation MBUX featuring AI from ChatGPT-4o and Google Gemini.
In a statement, Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, said: “No car embodies this legacy more than the S-Class. The new S-Class remains our benchmark—and our promise.”
