The all-new Kia Seltos has earned a five-star BNCAP rating with the highest adult occupant protection score recorded for an ICE vehicle
The all-new Kia Seltos has achieved a five-star rating under India’s Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP), recording a combined score of 76.70 — the highest achieved by an internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle under the programme to date. The SUV earned 31.70 points for adult occupant protection, the highest among ICE vehicles tested under BNCAP, and 45.00 points for child occupant protection, one of the highest scores recorded in either category.
The Seltos is built on Kia’s K3 platform, which features reinforced hot-stamped components and high-strength steel to manage crash energy and maintain structural integrity during impact. Standard safety equipment includes six airbags, electronic stability control, and hill-assist control, alongside a Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) suite of 21 features, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go.

The result makes the Seltos the second Kia model to achieve five stars under BNCAP, following the Syros. The SUV has recorded more than 10,000 monthly sales in India since launch.
Gwanggu Lee, Managing Director and Chief Executive of Kia India, said: “Safety is an integral part of Kia’s product philosophy as we continue our journey towards becoming one of the most trusted mobility brands in India. This is a strong validation of our engineering capabilities and intent, where every aspect of the vehicle, from its structure to its advanced safety technologies, has been developed with occupant protection at its core.”
