Three milestones converge at Kia Georgia: the 2027 Telluride HEV launch, the plant’s 5 millionth vehicle, and Georgia’s first HEV assembly.
Kia Georgia has started production of the 2027 Telluride HEV at its West Point facility, with the ceremonial first vehicle simultaneously representing the plant’s 5 millionth unit and the first hybrid electric vehicle assembled in the state of Georgia. The event was attended by Georgia Governor Brian Kemp.
The West Point plant is the sole global production site for the Telluride, which has been built there since the model’s launch in 2019. The facility has operated since 2009 and has grown into one of the largest employers in the region.
“Reaching five million vehicles and introducing Kia’s first US-assembled HEV is a testament to both Kia’s storied history and our direction going forward,” said Sean Yoon, president and CEO of Kia North America and Kia America.
