Nissan’s Smyrna plant is building the new Infiniti QX65, lifting the share of Infiniti vehicles assembled in the US to two-thirds
Nissan Group has started assembly of the all-new 2027 Infiniti QX65 at its Smyrna plant in Tennessee, adding a new nameplate to the US facility’s Infiniti production mix as two-thirds of the luxury brand’s lineup is now built domestically. The two-row midsize luxury SUV will reach US dealers in early summer 2026 with a starting price of US$53,990.
The QX65 is the latest addition to a Smyrna footprint that has assembled Infiniti vehicles since 2012 and Nissan vehicles for more than four decades. The automaker said it invested in training, tooling and assembly processes at the plant ahead of the nameplate’s launch.

The launch supports Nissan’s strategy of assembling vehicles in the markets where they are sold. Two-thirds of the Infiniti range is now built in the US using a mix of domestic and imported parts, a positioning the automaker has leaned on as tariff and trade conditions tighten across North America.
David Johnson, regional Senior Vice President, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management and Purchasing, Nissan Americas, said: “Assembling an all-new Infiniti nameplate in Tennessee underscores the strength of our manufacturing operations and the team members behind it. The dedication and commitment of our Smyrna team members, as well as those at our Decherd engine facility, to deliver manufacturing excellence helps us offer exceptional new U.S.-assembled vehicles that satisfy our consumers for years to come.”
Eric Ledieu, Vice President, Infiniti Americas, added: “The start of QX65 assembly is a powerful statement about where Infiniti is heading.”
