While rumours of a deal between Nissan and Chery concerning the Sunderland factory are unconfirmed, recent trends make it seem likely. By Will Girling
Nissan is reportedly discussing a deal for Chery to manufacture in the UK by utilising unused capacity at its Sunderland plant. A 16 April article in the Financial Times cited four anonymous sources that talks have taken place, though no solid plan is in place; the automakers have neither confirmed nor denied the story.
