US tariffs continue to eat Hyundai’s profits, and a difficult global car market is expected to restrict its growth potential in 2026. By Will Girling
Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) had a flat final quarter in 2025: revenue of KRW 47tr (US$32.9bn) represented little change from the same quarter in 2024, and unit wholesales fell 3% to slightly more than one million. Top-line growth across the whole year was better, KRW 186tr (+6.3%), though a 21.7% drop in net profit demonstrates the headwinds HMC faced and still faces.
