GM Canada is debuting the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt at the Montreal International Auto Show, marking the Canadian premiere for the returning model which the automaker says will be among the country’s most affordable electric vehicles (EVs) with an estimated range of up to 422 km. The show, running from 16 to 25 January at the Palais des congrès de Montréal, also features GM’s Cadillac EV lineup—including the Optiq, Lyriq, Vistiq, Escalade IQ and Celestiq—alongside GMC and Buick models.

The automaker said the Chevrolet Equinox EV is currently Canada’s top-selling EV, while Cadillac Canada has achieved six consecutive years of record growth driven by demand for the Optiq EV. GM’s petrol-powered models also performed strongly in 2025, with Chevrolet Traverse sales rising 131% year-on-year, Buick Envision up 81% and Chevrolet Equinox up 80%.

Full-size pick-up trucks, including the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, increased 7% over the same period. GM Canada said it employs more than 1,000 engineers developing software, safety technology and EV systems, with the company describing Quebec as a key market given the province’s strong EV adoption rates.
