Geely’s robotaxi platform CaoCao has reached 100 vehicles in Hangzhou and opened an automated fleet operations hub
CaoCao Inc., Geely Holding Group’s robotaxi operations platform, has expanded its fleet in Hangzhou to 100 vehicles. The company has also brought online what it describes as the world’s first Green Intelligent Mobility Hub, equipped with automated battery swapping, self-cleaning and intelligent dispatching capabilities.
The 100-vehicle deployment in Hangzhou’s Binjiang District marks an early milestone in CaoCao’s three-phase robotaxi roadmap. The current phase focuses on transitioning from safety-driver-based services to fully driverless operations while trialling mixed fleets of human-driven and autonomous vehicles. The final phase targets large-scale commercial operations with purpose-built robotaxis.

CaoCao is working with Geely and other partners to develop a dedicated robotaxi model with integrated autonomous driving hardware and software, set to debut later this year. The company aims to deploy 100,000 purpose-built robotaxis by 2030.
The firm is also expanding internationally, having signed a memorandum of understanding with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office. CaoCao will establish a local office in Abu Dhabi this year to pilot autonomous driving and green mobility technologies with local partners.
