Geely has launched the EX2 in Indonesia and confirmed the start of local assembly with 46.5% local content
Geely Auto has launched the EX2 in Indonesia and confirmed the start of local assembly, with the compact electric vehicle (EV) featuring 46.5% local content as part of the automaker’s localisation strategy for Southeast Asia. The EX2 is the third model in Geely’s local production line-up in Indonesia, following the Starray EM-i and EX5, and the launch marks a shift from initial product introduction to deeper market integration.
The EX2 topped China’s car sales across all categories in 2025, with 460,000 units sold during the year and 530,000 since its debut. In Brazil, the model became the second best-selling EV within 16 days of its launch. Geely said it aims to sell the EX2 in more than 100 countries worldwide.

Designed for urban families and young professionals, the EX2 has been adapted for Indonesian conditions with chassis adjustments for local roads, a blind spot detection system engineered for heavy motorcycle traffic, and a 540-degree transparent chassis view. Local assembly is carried out using the Geely Manufacturing Enterprise System to maintain global quality standards.
Geely described Indonesia as a strategically significant market, serving as both a key right-hand-drive market and a gateway to the wider Southeast Asian region.
