Geely Auto has launched the i-HEV hybrid system, claiming a Guinness-verified thermal efficiency record and fuel consumption of 2.22L/100km
Geely Auto has launched the i-HEV Intelligent Hybrid, a new hybrid system combining AI-driven energy management, an upgraded vehicle architecture and a Guinness World Records-verified thermal efficiency of 48.41%. The technology enters mass production immediately, with initial fitment across the Preface, Monjaro, Starray and Fifth Generation Emgrand models.
The system is built on Full-domain AI 2.0 and the i-CMA architecture, which integrates intelligent driving, cockpit and chassis controls into a centralised platform. A feature called AI Cloud Power adjusts the petrol-electric energy strategy in real time using external data including temperature, humidity and altitude, claiming more than 10% improvement in overall energy efficiency versus conventional hybrid layouts.

Rather than an engine-led setup, i-HEV uses a motor-led configuration, allowing the vehicle to run on electricity approximately 80% of the time without requiring a plug. Key metrics include a 230kW electric motor, an EV-mode top speed of 66km/h, 0–30km/h acceleration in 1.84 seconds and fuel consumption of 2.22L/100km as certified by CATARC. The i-CMA architecture also delivers IP68-rated battery protection and real-time prediction of more than 50 fault types.
In a statement, Jerry Gan, Chief Executive of Geely Auto Group, said: “The new i-HEV perfectly embodies this resilience, serving as a powerful testament to how artificial intelligence can elevate hybrid efficiency and performance to new industry standards.”
