G42 plans framework to govern US AI chip deployments

G42 is developing a compliance and tracking framework for US-origin AI chips, built around the UAE’s participation in the US-led Pax Silica initiative.

G42 has announced plans to develop an assurance framework governing the deployment and use of advanced US-origin AI semiconductors within its infrastructure. The initiative builds on the UAE’s participation in the US-led Pax Silica initiative and is designed to align with US export control requirements.

The framework centres on a Common Operating Picture providing continuous, verifiable visibility into the location and authorised use of regulated hardware. Advanced chips will operate within G42’s Regulated Technology Environment, a secure computing framework developed in coordination with the US and UAE governments, incorporating physical and logical access controls, personnel screening, and continuous monitoring.

G42 also intends to deploy cryptographic mechanisms to track compute utilisation across regulated clusters, enabling token-level verification of AI workloads. The company says the model is intended to serve as a replicable blueprint for other Pax Silica partner countries.

“Trust, verification, and responsible stewardship must be engineered directly into the compute layer,” said Talal M. Al Kaissi, G42’s group chief global affairs officer. “We plan to embed compliance, cryptographic accountability, and continuous transparency into the architecture itself.”
