Franziska Cusumano moves from Daimler Truck AG to lead Mitsubishi Fuso as President and Chief Executive from 1 April

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation has appointed Franziska Cusumano as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 April 2026, following approval by the company’s board of directors and at the general shareholders’ meeting. Cusumano joins from Daimler Truck AG, where she held the position of Chief Executive of Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks, and will succeed current President and Chief Executive Karl Deppen at the Kawasaki-based truckmaker.
Two additional board appointments take effect on the same date as part of the broader leadership changes. Tatsuya Nomura, currently Officer of Management Integration at Hino Motors, will join Mitsubishi Fuso’s board as Director, while Hironobu Ando is appointed Director alongside his continuing role as Senior Vice President, Head of Product Engineering.
Both director appointments are conditional on the closing of the business integration agreement between Fuso and Hino Motors, originally signed in June 2025 and subsequently amended. The closing conditions set out in section two of that agreement must be fulfilled before the appointments formally take effect.
