Ford and onX are giving eligible US owners of 2017 and newer Ford vehicles a complimentary year of access to onX’s outdoor navigation apps
Ford has partnered with outdoor navigation firm onX to offer eligible US Ford owners complimentary access to the company’s suite of outdoor mapping apps for one year. Owners of 2017 model year and newer Ford vehicles with an active modem who are new onX customers can claim Elite memberships for onX Offroad, onX Hunt and onX Backcountry, along with onX Fish Midwest, through to December 2028.
The apps integrate with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, enabling in-vehicle map display, and support offline map downloads for use in areas without mobile connectivity. The onX Offroad app provides access to over 650,000 miles of routes with difficulty ratings and descriptions, while onX Backcountry covers more than one million miles of hiking, biking, ski and climbing routes.

Ford described the collaboration as an early step in a broader software personalisation strategy. In a statement, Mike Aragon, President of Integrated Services at Ford, said: “Our team at Ford is beginning a journey toward radical vehicle personalization using software, and this is an example of how you can make your experience true to what you’re passionate about or want to learn.”
Andrew Willard, General Manager of onX Offroad, added: “This collaboration brings together leaders in our respective categories to create an unmatched experience for outdoor enthusiasts.”
