Daimler Truck will build a new Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle centre in Koblenz, with commissioning planned for early 2028

Daimler Truck is building a new Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle centre in Koblenz, Germany, with construction set to begin in autumn 2026 and commissioning planned for early 2028. The investment forms part of the truckmaker’s strategy to expand its company-owned retail (Own Retail) network by more than 60% by 2030.

The new facility will offer sales and service for Mercedes-Benz trucks alongside service for Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses across around 4,000 square metres of built-up floor area. It will include high-voltage workstations to enable servicing of battery-electric models including the eActros and eEconic trucks, the eCitaro city bus, and eIntouro intercity bus, as well as a roof workstation for work on truck cabs and bus roofs.

In a statement, Stina Fagerman, Head of Marketing, Sales and Services at Mercedes-Benz Trucks, said: “The truck business is characterised by a high level of complexity, intensive consulting requirements and strong customer relationships. Through our company-owned retail operations and locations, we maintain close dialogue with our customers and continuously develop products and services.”

Daimler Truck has partnered with the Kestenholz Group on the site, with the Swiss family-owned company constructing a facility for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and vans on the northern portion. The Koblenz site also supplies spare parts to German Armed Forces locations and specialises in maintaining engines for Bundeswehr trucks. A 300 kilowatt peak photovoltaic system and heat pumps will enable carbon-neutral operation.
