Daimler Buses has opened a remanufacturing logistics centre at Neu-Ulm, handling parts for both truck and bus operations
Daimler Buses has opened a Reman Core Consolidation Centre at its Neu-Ulm plant in Germany, bringing logistics for remanufactured truck and bus replacement parts in-house after previously outsourcing the operation to an external provider. The company expanded an existing hall by approximately 5,000 square metres to accommodate the new facility, which will handle parts for both Daimler Buses and Daimler Truck operations.
Used components such as engines and transmissions are received at the centre, inspected by specialists and forwarded to Daimler Truck and Daimler Buses plants in Germany or to suppliers for remanufacturing. The process involves disassembly, cleaning, reconditioning and reassembly with new wear parts.

In a statement, Bernd Mack, Head of Aftersales at Daimler Buses, said: “With the new CCC, we are assuming the central coordination of Reman logistics for Truck and Bus in Neu-Ulm. In doing so, we are making an important contribution to efficiency and sustainability for both Daimler Buses and the Daimler Truck Group as a whole.”
Remanufacturing forms part of Daimler Truck’s circular economy strategy, which focuses on component reuse, waste reduction and extending product lifecycles. The Neu-Ulm site employs around 3,800 people and serves as the competence centre for Mercedes-Benz and Setra coach production.
