A new LFP battery, twin powertrain options, and aerodynamic revisions bring improved efficiency to the updated Dacia Spring
Dacia has announced a broad product update across five models, introducing new powertrains, revised platforms, and design changes for the Sandero, Sandero Stepway, Jogger, Duster, Bigster, and Spring. The most significant development is the hybrid-G 150 4×4, available on the Duster and Bigster, which Dacia claims is the first production powertrain to combine a 48V mild-hybrid system, LPG flex-fuel capability, and all-wheel drive.
The hybrid-G 150 4×4 pairs a 140hp 1.2-litre front engine with a 31hp rear-mounted electric motor, delivering a combined output of 154hp and 230Nm. A disengageable rear axle and two-speed rear gearbox allow the system to operate in full 2WD mode to reduce friction losses. Dacia says the powertrain cuts running costs by 30% and CO2 emissions by 20g/km compared with its mild-hybrid 4×4 predecessor. Duster offers a total range of up to 1,500km across both fuel tanks.

The Jogger gains an updated hybrid 155 powertrain producing 155hp and 170Nm, with a claimed 10% reduction in fuel consumption against the outgoing hybrid 140 unit. Sandero, Sandero Stepway, and Jogger also receive a new 120hp 1.2-litre turbocharged flex-fuel engine paired with a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox for the first time, and enlarged LPG tanks extending range in LPG mode by 20%.
The Spring receives a new 24.3kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with cell-to-pack technology, two new electric motors of 52kW and 75kW, and aerodynamic revisions reducing its CdA from 0.745 to 0.660, while maintaining a WLTP range of 225km.
