Continental’s new Conti Hybrid HT 5 trailer tyre completes the supplier’s Generation 5 hybrid range for regional freight transport
Continental has launched the Conti Hybrid HT 5 trailer tyre, completing its Generation 5 hybrid tyre family for regional freight transport. The range now offers coordinated solutions for steering, drive, and trailer axles, with the supplier citing a 15% mileage improvement over the predecessor Conti Hybrid HT 3+.

The tyre carries a B rating for wet grip and an A rating for external rolling noise on the EU tyre label. Continental said a new tread compound and optimised tread design provide grip in wet and cold conditions, while zigzag-shaped centre grooves and 2D pocket sipes maintain performance as tread depth decreases.
In a statement, Hinnerk Kaiser, Head of Product Development for Bus and Truck Tyres at Continental, said: “We developed the new Conti Hybrid HT 5 specifically for fleets that have to withstand the high demands of regional distribution transport on a daily basis. The Conti Hybrid HT 5 combines safety, efficiency, and durability and supports reliable, economical operation under changing conditions.”

The Conti Hybrid HT 5 will be available from March in sizes 385/65 R22.5 and 385/55 R22.5, with further sizes to follow by 2027. All tyres are equipped with RFID sensors and can integrate with Continental’s ContiConnect digital tyre management system.
