Comau has pitched its body-in-white and digital manufacturing tools to Indonesian CV makers at GIICOMVEC 2026 in Jakarta
Automation supplier Comau has used the Indonesia International Commercial Vehicle Expo (GIICOMVEC 2026) in Jakarta to expand its engagement with local OEMs and supply chain partners. The Italian company pitched its body-in-white automation, flexible multi-model production systems and digital manufacturing capabilities as it pushes deeper into Southeast Asia’s commercial vehicle market.
Indonesia is becoming a more significant commercial vehicle production base, with industrial modernisation and an expanded presence of Chinese automakers reshaping the country’s supplier ecosystem. GIICOMVEC 2026 featured 14 commercial vehicle brands spanning light commercial vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, buses and specialty vehicles.

Comau said regional manufacturers are working with broader product portfolios and shorter production cycles, driving demand for automation that supports multi-model output, consistent body-in-white build quality, and digital production management.
The supplier pointed to policy initiatives such as Making Indonesia 4.0 and the country’s vehicle electrification push as factors behind demand for efficient manufacturing. Comau also flagged its e-mobility and battery assembly work as a potential entry point into the regional commercial vehicle supply chain.
Comau did not disclose new customers, contract values or investment figures tied to its participation, saying it is combining its China and other global market experience with local insight.
