Chinese automakers enjoyed record sales in Europe in December 2025, but experienced a noteworthy pullback the next month. By Stewart Burnett
Chinese automakers’ share of European hybrid and electric vehicle (EV) sales fell in January 2026, retreating from record levels recorded at the close of 2025. According to Dataforce, Chinese brands accounted for 15% of hybrid registrations in Europe last month—slipping nearly 3% from the previous month—while pure EVs experienced a similar retreat, falling to 12%.
