Autobrains’ agentic AI system allows OEMs to expand driving capability within current vehicle platforms, avoiding costly hardware redesigns
Israeli autonomous driving firm Autobrains has announced what it describes as the automotive industry’s first application of agentic AI to both advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and automated driving (AD), with the technology already deployed with global automotive partners in programmes targeting mass-market vehicles. The architecture organises driving intelligence into specialised, scenario-focused agents rather than relying on a single generalised model.
Within the system, multiple driving agents operate in coordination, with only those relevant to the current situation activated at a given moment. Autobrains says the selective activation reduces compute load and allows advanced driving capability to run on standard sensor configurations and existing vehicle hardware, removing the need for OEMs to redesign platforms or adopt high-end compute systems to unlock new safety features.
The company positions the approach as a response to the scaling challenges of conventional end-to-end architectures, which it says have grown heavier and more costly as ADAS and AD systems have advanced.
