Perseus brings Pegasus hypervisor to Infineon Aurix TC4Dx

Perseus has released its Pegasus ASIL-D hypervisor for Infineon’s Aurix TC4Dx platform, supporting SDV development on production-grade evaluation hardware

Perseus has released its Pegasus automotive hypervisor for Infineon Technologies’ Aurix TC4Dx system-on-chip (SoC) evaluation platform, giving OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers a production-oriented path to develop and test virtualised, mixed-criticality systems for software-defined vehicles (SDVs). The ISO 26262 ASIL-D-certified Type-1 bare-metal hypervisor is now available on TC4Dx evaluation hardware, with tooling and documentation accessible through Infineon’s ecosystem channels.

The release completes an integration programme in which Perseus adapted Pegasus to the TC4Dx evaluation board. The combined stack is designed to support SDV, zonal and safety-critical automotive architectures, enabling developers to prototype consolidated electronic and electrical platforms on production-grade hardware.

Engineers working with TC4Dx evaluation hardware can access the full Pegasus virtualisation stack, including a software development kit for defining virtual machine layouts, resource allocation and system-level configuration, alongside platform documentation and integration guidance.

As SDV architectures mature, OEMs face growing pressure to consolidate functionality within real-time and safety-critical microcontroller domains. Pegasus addresses the system-software layer required to safely consolidate workloads, enforcing isolation and deterministic scheduling below the operating system level.

Sang-bum Suh, Founder of Perseus, said: “By enabling PEGASUS on Infineon’s TC4Dx evaluation hardware and making the tooling and documentation publicly available, we’re giving engineering teams a practical way to evaluate MCU-level virtualization for production-oriented SDV architectures.”

Thomas Schneid, Head of Software, Partnership and Ecosystem Management at Infineon Technologies, added: “The availability of PEGASUS through our ecosystem provides customers with an additional option to evaluate hypervisor-based virtualization on TC4Dx as part of their system architecture and platform assessments.”
