Driivz launches EMS to improve EV charging site economics

Driivz has launched an energy management system for EV charging operators, enabling greater site capacity and grid service revenue without infrastructure upgrades

Driivz, a Vontier company, has launched an energy management system (EMS) for electric vehicle charging operators, designed to increase site capacity and generate revenue from grid services without requiring electrical infrastructure upgrades. The system follows Driivz’s integration of Sparkion technologies and combines local and cloud-based controls to manage grid power, renewable energy, battery storage and connected vehicles at individual sites and across nationwide networks.

Through real-time dynamic load balancing and power assist capabilities, the EMS can support up to six times the number of EVs at a single site by sharing available capacity and supplementing grid power with on-site storage and renewables. Demand charge mitigation tools allow operators to deliver faster charging while remaining within power limits during peak periods.

The platform also enables charging sites to participate in utility programmes, providing demand response, frequency regulation and reserve capacity to create recurring revenue from grid services. Fleet operators can use the system to prioritise charging based on vehicle state of charge, battery capacity and departure schedules.

In a statement, Shiri Levi-Laor, Chief Executive of Driivz, said: “Our new Energy Management System represents a fundamental shift in how operators can approach charging infrastructure, enabling them to scale profitably without massive capital investments while simultaneously supporting grid stabilization and sustainability goals.”
