Škoda has introduced a 200 kW plug-in hybrid powertrain for the Superb Hatch, making it the most powerful in the series
Škoda has introduced a 200 kW plug-in hybrid powertrain for the Superb Hatch, making it the most powerful combustion-engine model in the automaker’s current range. The new powertrain is available exclusively for the Superb Hatch in Sportline and Laurin & Klement trim levels.
The system combines a 1.5 TSI petrol engine producing 130 kW with an 85 kW electric motor and a 25.7 kWh battery. Compared to the existing 150 kW variant, system power increases by 50 kW through an upgraded petrol engine and software optimisation, while maximum torque rises to 400 Nm. The powertrain delivers a top speed of 225 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds.

The braking system has been upgraded to match the increased performance, with larger ventilated rear discs and improved front brake cooling. Battery capacity, charging power and charging times remain unchanged from the 150 kW variant.
The existing 150 kW plug-in hybrid powertrain remains available for all Superb Combi trim levels and for the Superb Hatch in Selection trim. Škoda said one in four Superb models is now ordered with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Since 2019, the automaker has delivered more than 68,000 Superb iV models across both generations and body styles.
