In a statement, Martin Sander, Volkswagen Board Member for Sales, Marketing and After Sales, said: “We laid the foundations for electromobility early on and are driving our transformation to an all-electric future with clear strategic priority. Our strong market position, particularly in Germany and Europe, confirms the attractiveness and competitiveness of our electric portfolio.”

Volkswagen said it has taken on a leading position in all-electric vehicles in Germany and throughout Europe. The automaker started its electromobility journey in 2013 with the launch of the e-up! and has been expanding its electric portfolio since.

The brand is set to launch four new electric cars throughout 2026 in its small car and compact segments, beginning with the ID. Polo.
