Xiaomi continues to find itself at the centre of public safety debates, despite its technology being similar to that of its most threatened competitors. By Stewart Burnett
Xiaomi is forming a safety advisory committee with the authority to veto decisions across every stage of vehicle design, engineering and manufacturing in the wake of a series of highly-publicised incidents involving the automaker’s SU7-series electric vehicles (EVs). The announcement, made during a livestream, came alongside plans for regular consultations with owners, media and independent experts; the first of such sessions is scheduled for the first half of this year.
